Moses married Elizabeth Stamper. They had sons:

Moses Jr.
John T.
William
Jesse
Joel (?)

They moved from North Carolina to Arkansas, Tennesse, and Alabama. While they were moving from Alabama to Indiana, Moses died on the road. Elizabeth continued on to Indiana with her son John T. Toliver and his wife and children. Elizabeth died 28 Aug 1827 and was buried in Freedom Cemetery in Mitchell, Lawrence County, Indiana. The land for the cemetery was donated by her son John T. who moved to Clay County, Illinois before he died.

Moses Toliver was born about 1753. perhaps in Fauquier County, VA. He first
appears on the 1774 tax list of Surry County, NC. On June 3, 1778, he entered a
land claim for 100 acres on Mulberry Creek in Wilkes County, NC (land entry book
158). On October 27, 1782, he and wife Elizabeth conveyed the 100 acres to
Abraham Edins (deed book A1, page 234). They appear to have moved to the south
fork of the New River, near Jefferson, Ashe County, NC.

He appeared in the census in 1787 in Wilkes County, NC. This state census listed
4 males and 3 females. He appeared in the census in 1790 in Wilkes County, NC.
It lists 5 males and 3 females. He appeared in the census in 1800 in Ashe County,
NC. It lists 2 males under 10, 2 males 10-15, 2 males 16-25, 1 male over 44, 1
female under 10 and 1 female 26-44. He died in 1815 at the age of 62.

Moses and his family reportedly left for Indiana in 1815, probably with his
brother Charles. He is believed to have died en route to Indiana.

Moses Toliver and Elizabeth [Unknown] were married Unknown. Elizabeth [Unknown]
was born about 1755. Some postings on Ancestry.com list her surname as Stamper
or Connelly. However, no supporting evidence is given. She died Unknown. Moses
Toliver and Elizabeth [Unknown] had the following child:

John Toliver, born April 20, 1780.
