Obituary for Evelyn Louisa (Friand) Trabue-Hamm (1919 - 2005:

Eve lyn Hamm went to be with our Lord on Sunday, August 7, 2005; her daughters were holding her when she passed. Evelyn was born in Hotchkiss, Colorado on October 29, 1919 to David and Emma Friand. She moved to California in 1940, and later married Jack Trabue, who passed away in 1950. Evelyn then married Ernest Hamm in 1953 in San Fernando, CA. Evelyn and Ernie moved to Santa Paula in 1965, and Ernie passed away in 1998. Evelyn lived in Santa Paula until 2002, when she moved to Thousand Oaks to live with her daughter. Besides her parents and two husbands, Evelyn lost three brothers and a sister. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Jann and Tom Perkins of Thousand Oaks and daughter Shirley Rayner of Portland, Oregon; also stepdaughter and husband Kae and Steve Kleinman of West Los Angeles; and stepson Dennis Hamm of Malibu. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, a brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Ruth Friand of Los Osos, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Evelyn was a member of the Church of Christ, and loved her church family. A special thanks to all of our friends, her caregivers, Erlinda and Jody, and nurses Sarah and Iris of VITAS Hospice.

A celebration of Evelyn?s life was held August 13 at the Simi Church of Christ. Burial followed at Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Skillin-Carroll Mortuary, 738 E. Santa Paula St., 525-3391.
