Ollie Gay "Ruth" Zumwalt (1919 - 2012)
Ollie "Ruth" Gay Zumwalt, 93, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2012, and joined her heavenly Father and beloved husband, Bill. Graveside service: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Greenwood Memorial Park, Fort Worth.
Ruth was born Jan. 12, 1919, in Avinger to James and Mardi Gay. After growing up in East Texas, she moved to Fort Worth in 1943 where she worked on an airplane assembly line during World War II at General Dynamics. Ruth met Bill Zumwalt in 1951 and they married the next year. These two were meant for each other and were devoted to their Christian ministry, touching many lives over the years. Ruth raised two sons, but was "mom" to many more who counted on her prayers, advice and positive influence. Ruth enjoyed her retirement years working in her gardens, praying and reading her Bible. She was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Bill Zumwalt.
Survivors: Children, Lynn and Linda, and James and Susan; nieces, Mardi Gay and Pat Gay; and many of her brothers and sisters in the Lord.
