Funeral services for Verna Lee Suchma Barak, age 79, of Needville, Texas, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 21, 2006, at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Needville with the Rev. Jim Aubey officiating. Burial will be in the Needville Public Cemetery. A time of visitation is planned for 5-8 p.m. Friday, October 20, 2006 at Garmany & Carden Funeral Chapel in Needville.
Verna was born November 10, 1926, in Fairchilds, Texas. She passed away Thursday, October 19, 2006 at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital in Houston. Her parents were Charlie and Ada Cloudt Suchma. On July 3, 1943 she married Frank Lee Barak. She was a longtime member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Needville. Many years ago she worked at Henke and Pillot and later worked for Needville ISD. Most importantly, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Barak, of Needville. Daughters: Judith Zwahr and husband, Harley; and Diana Dockal; granddaughters: Rhonda Firkins and husband, Mike, of Lake Jackson; Nicole Zwahr of Sugar Land; and Holly Dockal of College Station; great granddaughters: Haley and Kelsey Firkins of Lake Jackson; sister: Dorothy Barak and husband, John.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Charlie and Ada Cloudt Suchma.
