Manuel "La Charra" Pérez, age 79, beloved husband, father and grandfather, was embraced by the Lord and taken to his heavenly home on Sunday, April 1, 2012.
Manuel was lifelong resident of Bernalillo, NM.
Manuel was preceded in death by son, Michael, parents, Vicente and Erinea, five brothers and three sisters.
Manuel is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Marlene, his wonderful children, Barbara Carrasco and her husband, Christopher, Daniel Pérez, Kenneth Pérez and his wife, Lulu, Manuel Pérez and his wife, Angel and Ronald Pérez, 16 grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his sister, Dolores Quintana and her husband, Transito, brother, Emiliano Pérez and his wife, Charlotte and Henry Pérez and his wife, Elsie and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Manuel will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose lives he touched.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo, NM, where a Rosary will be recited at 2:00 p.m., then followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 2:30 p.m. Interment to follow at Bernalillo Cemetery, Bernalillo, NM. Casket Bearers will be Thomas Maés, Miguel Pérez, Daniel Pérez, Kenneth Pérez, Manuel Pérez III and Ronald Pérez. Honorary Bearers will be Isaiah Pérez, Patrick Pérez, Vicente Pérez, Christopher Pérez, David Pérez, James Pérez, Mark López, Wayne Domínguez and Chris Armijo.
