Delma Joyce Luce-Bryan, age 78, of Port Arthur, Texas died Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.

She was born March 21, 1934 to Francis Joyce Bush Luce and Elton Elzie Luce in Bluewater.

Delma Joyce enjoyed gardening, making people laugh and making chicken and dumplings. Her greatest passion was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a consoling person and the glue of the family. She was a caretaker by heart, never met a stranger and spent most of her life caring for and helping others. She was not one who accumulated many earthly possessions, as she gave most everything to those in need. Joyce was a wonderful lady who made a difference in so many lives. Now that she has passed, she is surely rejoicing in heaven and living reunited with her family and friends she so dearly loved.

Survivors include her son, Gary M. Coker and his wife, Karen of Wichita Falls, Texas, her daughters, S. Vellene Peterson and her husband, Chuck of Reno, Nevada, L. Diane Justice and her husband, Ben of Orange, Texas and Cynthia R. Dotson and her husband, James of Bridge City, Texas, her brother, Elton Luce of Nederland, Texas, seven grandchildren, Kacy Rutledge and her husband, William, April Coker, Gail Howell and her husband, Jeremy, Brianne LeBoeuf and her husband, Brandon, Canaan Peterson, Evie Peterson and Greyland Garza, six great-grandchildren, Bailey LeBoeuf, Clay Rutledge, Michaela Rutledge, Angel Howell, Raven Howell and Bernis Howell.

Delma Joyce is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, R.T. Luce.

A gathering of her family and friends will be from 6 until 9pm Friday, March 30, 2012 at Broussard's, 505 12th Street, Nederland.

Her funeral service will be 10am Saturday, March 31, 2012, at Broussard's.

A family committal will be held at Broussard's Crematorium.
