DEATH FROM SPINAL MENINGITIS - Darrell Franklin, 1 year old son of Clifford and Irene Sexton Highley, died at Mercy hospital in Kansas City, Tuesday evening of spinal meningitis. The child was born October 20, 1937. Last Friday the infant became ill and was brought to Adrian to a physician Saturday. Monday the child's condition became alarming and he was taken to Kansas City. Within two hours after reaching the hospital the child died. Brief burial services were held at the graveside Wednesday afternoon in Altona cemetery, conducted by Rev. S. E. Proffitt and burial was made by the Creath & Six service.
