From Last Hope Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation in New York:
Rest in peace Teddy, you are missed. Teddy was a 7 year old Rottie that came into the Huntington Shelter as a stray. He was there for almost 8 months where they discovered he had heartworm. They treated him and he came through treatment like a trooper even though it is not an easy treatment. He came to Last Hope where he was a huge favorite among the volunteers. Why? Because Teddy had the biggest heart you could imagine. Everyone was his friend and all he wanted to do was snuggle. He would look at you with those big brown eyes and all you could do was melt. He was treated for some minor health problems and seemed to be doing well. But like many dogs, they will mask illness until they are very sick. He collapsed and rapidly went downhill. It was decided that it would be best to let Teddy go and be at peace. One of the coordinators was with Teddy at the end so he passed with friends at his side, not alone in a cage somewhere. We know you are at the Rainbow Bridge now, young, healthy and strong.
