From Peace of Mind Dog Rescue of California:
Buddy became a Peace of Mind dog when his family lost their home and they could not find rental housing that allowed dogs. At eleven years of age, he wasn't a good candidate for adoption from an animal shelter, and so he was placed in a foster home until his new family could be found. Unfortunately, after only a couple months, he began experiencing pain in his neck area, and an x-ray revealed a collapsed cervical disc. Various veterinary treatments were not able to relieve him of his pain, and so it was with great sadness that the decision was made to let him go.
Buddy wasn't with us long, but the short time he did spend with us with us was filled with affection and a sense of belonging. He was adored not only by his foster mom, but by everyone who met him, and we are comforted knowing that he enjoyed the peace and joy of the life of a loved and wanted dog. We all mourn the passing of this gentle boy.
