CLARENCE J. STEINER
HERKIMER - Clarence J. Steiner. 73, first chairman of the Herkimer Housing Authority, died yesterday in his home at 106 Green St. Mr. Steiner was appointed to the Housing Authority when It was formed by Mayor William Winston in 1951 and during his tenure the Eastern Gardens 50unit project was completed.
He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. He married Catherine M. Eby in 1928, in Dayton. Ohio.
Mr. Steiner served in the Army in World War I and had 48 years of continuous membership in the American Legion.
He was employed by the Dalton Adding Machine Division of Remington Rand, Inc., and came to Ilion in 1934 when the division moved there.

He leaves his wife.
Funeral services... burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.
