Ben was born near Branch, Michigan. He was the beloved husband of Trena (Schultz), and together they raised three children, Arlene, Jerry and Janet. He was a farmer most of his life, and lived in New Era, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Arlene, and son, Jerry. He is survived by his wife; daughter, Janet (Norman) Boardwell; daughter-in-law, Loretta (Michael) Timmich; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
