Stockwell - April 20 - Mrs. Amanda Skinner, 84, widow of Thomas N. Skinner, and a resident of this community for many years, died this morning at 7 o’clock at her home after a two weeks’ illness. The daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Hines, she was born in Hamilton County, In., July 12, 1848, and came with her parents to this vicinity when a small girl. On Aug 17, 1865 she was married to Mr. Skinner, who died 15 years ago. Mrs. Skinner was the mother of four children, a son died in infancy. She was a member of the Stockwell Methodist church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. W. S. Coulter and Mrs. L. C. Harrison and a son, Russell B. Skinner; all living in this community, also six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The body was removed to the Baker funeral home in Dayton and will be taken to the home of Russel Skinner, two and a half miles west of Stockwell, where friends may call after 2 o’clock Friday afternoon. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning at 10 o’clock from the son’s home. Interment in Concord cemetery.
