Although it is no longer legible, investigation revealed that this is the headstone of the first George Duffield Blair. The book "Memories of Carlisle's Old Graveyard", pg. 49, lists in order the headstones in this lot and this is conclusively his headstone. In 1898 when the cemetery was transcribed, the headstone read as follows:
"George Duffield, infant son of Andrew & Elizabeth Blair. Aug. 10-1829. 2m 18d."
