Roy D'Arcy
Birth: Feb. 10, 1894
San Francisco
San Francisco County
California, USA
Death: Nov. 15, 1969
San Bernardino County
California, USA

Actor. Born Roy Francis Giusti, he attended college at the University of Jena in Germany. He traveled with a gypsy band, singing and dancing, throughout Switzerland, Germany, and Bohemia. He then became a world traveler, working at many odd jobs. He had developed a pleasant singing voice, and he won the tenor lead with several traveling theater troupes. His biggest success was in "Oh, Boy," a musical comedy. He made his screen debut in the movie version of the show in 1919. In 1925 D'Arcy debuted in "The Merry Widow" as the "Crown Prince Mirko." After this performance, D'Arcy became one of the busiest actors in the industry. MGM provided him immediately with a number of projects. One of his last silents was "Girls Gone Wild" (1929) where he played ‘Tony Morelli'. (bio by: MC (Inactive))
