He came to Venango County about 65 years ago from Curllsville and lived in Oil City a short time before moving to Franklin. He was a retired painter and paperhanger and at one time was in the restaurant business on Thirteenth Street with Clifford Sanner.
Mr. Autner was well-known throughout the area for his work and a broken leg suffered in a fall about 1940 did not halt his activity. He recuperated to continue working and at the age of 80 he painted the outside of a house, his last job prior to retirement.
