Birth: 1801, Germany
Death: Feb., 1870
Gasconade County
Missouri, USA

The following narrative was created from available online records, including the 1850 immigration record, 1860 Gasconade County Census, Christliche Apologete Death Index, the MODC of William Morre, and the Gasconade County Cemetery Survey book and remains speculative:

Born circa 1801, Amelia Leweke married Henry Jacob Morre circa 1825. Widowed sometime after 1836, she married William Bicker and the couple immigrated in 1850 aboard ship President Smidt. Her son, William Morre age 14, traveled with them as William Bicker.

This Wilhelm Bicker age 14, man, present with the Bickers aboard ship President Smidt, again, WAS NOT a Bicker. He was Wilhelm Morre (1836-1912). Wilhelm Morre was proably a stepson of Wilhelm Bicker, documented by Mr. Morre's granddaughter Wilma Martin nee Morre. Other records support the connection.

On board with them was Augusta Bicker, lady, age 14; was she the daughter of William and/or Amelia, both or other? Destination was Freeport, IL. Another Bicker family traveled with them: Frederick age 33, probably a brother of Wm Bicker, Fredericka 28, Caroline 3, and Heinrich four months, were present by 1860 in Mill Grove, Loran Township, Stephenson County, IL. The two children were born in MO.

By 1860, Wilhelm and Amelia had settled in Gasconade County, MO, where both indicated birth in Lippe-Detmold. After Amelia's death in early 1870, widower Bicker married Henrietta Geller 10 July 1870. After Mr. Bicker died, widow Henrietta Bicker nee Geller married August Uekermann.

Of interest is that Mrs. Bicker rests by a Frederike "Ehelert" (1797-1856). The Augusta Bicker of 1850 crossing married a Karl "Ehlert" suggesting a family connection.
