Well Known Brainerd Young Lady Suc-
cumbed to Consumption After Linger-
ing Illness of Several Months.
Miss Jessie Clarke died last night at the home of her mother, Mrs. Henry Clarke, after a heroic encounter with that dread disease, consumption. Miss Clarke was in her twenty-eighth year and had lived most of her life in Brainerd, spending most of her childhood days here.
She went to Minneapolis several years ago and after an affiliation with the St. Luke's hospital for a term of years graduated and up to the time she was taken sick she had worked as a nurse in the twin cities.
The deceased was a lady of a quiet, dignified and pleasing disposition and made friends wherever she went. Her career as a nurse, though brief, was replete with good work and she leaves many warm admirers both in Minneapolis and this city.
Besides the mother there are three sisters and one brother of her nearest relatives to mourn the loss. The sisters are Mrs. J. A. Roberts, Miss Emma Clarke and Mrs. W. S. Hills. John Clarke is in Albuquerque, N. M., and it is not known whether he will be home for the funeral or not, H. C. Hills, a nephew, returned from Mandan several days ago.
