Herman Boschulte, a well known resident of this community for many years, died at his home north of town last Saturday afternoon after a long illness due to his advanced age. The deceased as a native of Germany where he was born May 16th, 1835. He came to Quincy, Ill., in 1853, where he was married in 1864 to Miss Frederika Westerman. They resided there for some time before coming to Nebraska in 1883. Nine children were born to this union, seven which survive him. His wife died several years ago. He was also a faithful member of the Lutheran church for many years and his associates will greatly miss him.
The children are Henry, of Scribner, Ed, of Ames, Fred and George, at home, Mrs. Herman Niebaum, of Fontanelle, Mrs. Ernest Rabe, of Hooper, and Mrs. Ernest Peppmiller, also two brothers, August of Merriam, Kans., and Charles, of Fremont, one sister in Quincy, twenty-eight grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Funeral services were held at the family residence north of town at 12 o'clock Tuesday and at the Lutheran church at 1 o'clock p.m. Rev. L. Grauenhorst officiating. Interment was made in the family lot in the Lutheran cemetery.
