Sebastian Hauner was born in 1887 in Bavaria, Germany, and had lived in Murphysboro most of his adult life. His siblings include Andrew Hauner of Little Fork, Minnesota and Mrs. Elizabeth Bromersberger of Little Fork, Minnesota.
He was married to Frances Salfer, who survives. He leaves nine children: Mrs. Frances Pschorr of Germany; Mrs. Cardel Derickson of Chester; Mrs. Aaron Bell of East St. Louis; Mrs. Charles Cassell of Washington, DC; Mrs. Raymond Ward and Mrs. John Schoenberger Jr., both of Murphysboro; Andrew of Murphysboro; Frank of San Francisco, California; and George of Moline. One daughter, Betty, preceded him in death.
He was a retired brewmaster of the McGovern Brewing Company of Marionville, Missouri. He was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Murphysboro. Mr. Hauner died at the age of 77 at his Murphysboro home.
