LOYD THOMAS BRESHEARS
Loyd Thomas Breshears was born Oct. 16, 1916 in Benton County near Bentonville, MO, to George and Florence Mulkey Breshears, and departed this life Oct. 24, 1992 at Golden Valley Hospital, Clinton, MO, at the age of 76 years and 8 days.

His early years were spent in Benton County, farming and assisting his parents in a country general store. In 1949 he was employed by General Motors, Kansas City, Kansas, and continued working there until his retirement in 1974. Loyd retired to farm near Wheatland, where he enjoyed raising cattle and farming for eighteen years until his health failed.

Loyd is survived by his wife, Ruth, of thirty-three years, one daughter, Naomi Briggs of Wheatland, one son, Loyd Marion Breshears, Grandview, MO; four grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Loyd will be sadly missed by his family and many friends, as he always had a smile for everyone, and a willingness to extend a neighborly hand.

Funeral services were held at Hathaway-Peterman Funeral Home on Oct. 27 with Rev. Bob Miller and Dr. Clark Morton officiating. Music was be Leola Treat and Ross Allen. Burial was in Crutsinger Cemetery located between Wheatland and Weaubleau. Pallbearers were Don Copp, Bill Chaney, Hubert Copp, Lorin Kurray, Woodrow Harris and Stanley Garrison. Honorary pallbearers were Irwin Wright, Fred McKenzie, Clarence Staten, Robert Copp, Jr., Stanley Mitchell and Kenneth Breshears.
