Anders S. Anderson


MILES CITY, MT. --- Anders S. Anderson worked for Milwaukee Road as a sheet metal worker and pipefitter for 33 years before retiring in 1952.


He died Thursday evening at age 91 in Holy Rosary Hospital.


Born in Falkenberg, Sweden, he was the son of Karl August & Anna Esplun Anderson.


He came to the United States when he was 19, worked as a lumberman in Michigan and Minnesota, then moved to Fargo, N.D.


He married Tillie Boen in 8/16/ 1913, at Clay, MN.


They homesteaded near Cohagen and five years later moved to Miles City.


His wife died June 8, 1977.


Survivors include four sons, Art of Portland, OR., Roy of Missoula, MT., Carmen of Harlowton, MT., and Munford in CA., a daughter Mrs. Pearl Herndon of Miles City, MT., a half brother in Sweden, 18 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren.


Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Lutheran Church.


Burial will be in Custer County Cemetery Miles City, MT., with J. E. Graves Funeral Home in charge.
