Dorothy Eloise Roberts, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away in Star ID June 3, 2010, at 92 years old. Born to Jay and Bessie Thomson in Sandstone MN on Aug. 21, 1917, Dorothy always considered Moscow ID her home. She was fortunate to live there for 59 years before moving to Boise to be near her daughter Kris.
After graduating from Mora High School in 1936, Dorothy graduated from St. Cloud Teacher's College and taught school for the next 11 years, most often in one-room school houses. She met her husband of 46 years, Boyd Gilbert Roberts, in Steptoe WA; and they married June 10, 1949. Boyd and Dorothy loved the outdoors. They enjoyed numerous camping trips along the St. Joe and Clearwater Rivers. Dorothy was a member of the Gritman Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for 25 years. She was also an active member of Moscow United Church and will forever be remembered as a prayer warrior by her family and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Boyd.
Family members include her daughter Kristin Compton (Brent); son Gregory; grandchildren Tyler and Ashley Compton, Cameron and Jill Cryder, and Molly Compton; great-grandsons Tanner and Carter Compton and Caden Cryder; and sister Betty Grimm of Colfax WA.
A graveside service will be held at the Moscow Cemetery on Saturday, June 19th. at 11 AM. Arrangements in Boise, Idaho are by Summers Funeral Home.
