Given under my hand this sixteenth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nineteen.

* FYI genealogical researchers--note that her name is "Mary Jane Barnett" and "Miss Jane Barret" in the same marriage license document (above). Peter's name is spelled "Hairisten" and "Hairston" in the same document. That is why I cut and pasted it from the reference material. The various spelling of names is why genealogy research is so difficult.

Mary Jane Barnet Hairston and her husband Ezekiel P. Hairston both passed away the same year (1870). Her cause of death was Typhoid Fever. They were buried on their land on Hairston Creek. IT HAS BEEN LEARNED THAT THE GRAVES WITHOUT MARKERS MENTIONED ON PAGE 146 OF THE BURNET CO CEMETERY RECORDS 1852-1982 LOCATED ON THE FORMER BILL PHILLIPS PLACE SOUTHEAST OF BURNET JUST OFF HAIRSTON CREEK ROAD ARE MEMBERS OF THE EZEKIEL P HAIRSTON FAMILY,EARLY PIONEER SETTLER OF BURNET (BORN CA.1794-DIED 1870)FOR WHOM HAIRSTON CREEK IS NAMED.MRS HAIRSTON (MARY JANE) WAS BORN CA.1796 AND DIED SOMETIME BEFORE 1870 IN BURNET CO.FOR FURTHER DATA SEE HAIRSTON FAMILY IN BURNET CO HISTORY,VOLUME 2.
