Lonaconing--Alec B. McAlpine, 70, of Knapp's Meadow, died Saturday at his home.
A native of Lonaconing, he was a son of the late James and Elizabeth (Nichols) McAlpine.
He is survived by his wife, Anna (Hausrath) McAlpine; five sons, Edward and Alec McAlpine, at home; George McAlpine, Elyria, Ohio; James McAlpine, Baltimore, and Charles McAlpine, Hopewell; four daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Penner, Pinto; Mrs. Annabelle Neilson, Frostburg; Mrs. Mary Blane [Blanc?], Cleveland, and Mrs. Carolyn Stafford, Oakland; a half-sister, Mrs. Jean Patton, Detroit; a half-brother, William Barnett of Pennsylvania; 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The body is at the Eichorn Funeral Home where friends will be received from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 p.m.
A service will be conducted there tomorrow at 2 p.m. by Rev. John McClain, and interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.
