Ora Griffith Allen, age 70, of the Estatoe Community, died Friday, March 23, 2012 at the Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine.
Mrs. Allen was born on January 13, 1942 in Mitchell County; she was the daughter of the late Earl and Jennie Boone Griffith. She was preceded in death by her sister; Helen Wilson and brothers; Ray and Dean Griffith. She was a member of the Liberty Hill Baptist Church and enjoyed quilting.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur Allen of Spruce Pine; her daughter, Vanesa Allen of Spruce Pine; her brothers; Jack Griffith and wife, Janice of Spruce Pine, James Griffith and wife, Nina of Marion; and Frank Griffith and wife, Rosie of Marion; her sister, Carolyn Carpenter of Spruce Pine; and her foster brother, Bill Ball of Charleston, WV.
The funeral service for Mrs. Ora Allen will be conducted on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at 3:00 pm at the Liberty Hill Baptist Church with the Rev's Ricky Ray and Dallas Renfro officiating. Interment will follow in the Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the church.
