Fredericke immigrated to the United States at Galveston, Texas on December 14, 1867 with her step father, Christian Gottlieb Brachwitz, her mother Fredericke Johanna Schmidt (sister of Sophia Schmidt Goerlitz), and her step siblings siblings, Caroline, Friedrich, Carl, Gottlieb, Franz, Marie, August and Otto on the Bark Texas, (sailed out of Bremen under Meister Mientzen, Ship's Manifest #5982). They settled two miles north of McDade, Bastrop County, Texas near Christian Goerlitz, who they had known in Germany. At their home she married Carl Busch from the Bluff Creek community (near Lincoln, now Lee County, Texas) on October 9, 1870. From there they moved to Waldeck, Fayette County, Texas. She and Carl had 6 children( William, Emma Kunert, Fred, Julius and 2 others)
