He was the son of Charles T Kock and Elizabeth Kock. He had brothers William F, P Oliver, and Robert M Kock.

He flew with Major Thorel 'Skip' Johnson's crew in the 373rd B Sq on the B-24 #? the ‘Nip Nipper', shown here in the photo on the right.

Piloted by Lt Ray Crawford, Jr, the entire crew of nine successfully bailed out of B-24J #42-73243 ‘Vitamin P II' over Tungt'ing Lake in Hunan Province, China, 5 February 1944 on a mission to Bangkok, Thailand after running low on gas. They were seven days walking out for more than 300 miles from inner China back to safety. The crew members were~

KOCK Charles R. "Dick' beloved husband of Marjorie (nee Harrison) Kock. Loving father of Charles L. (Bobbie) and Thomas H. (Karen) Kock. Dear brother of P. Oliver and the late William and Robert Kock. Devoted grandfather of Charles, Elizabeth, Andrew and Matthew Kock. Great grandfather of Katherine Kock. Mr. Kock was a WW II veteran and past president of the Price Hill Lion's Club. February 7, 2002. Age 82 years. Memorial service will be Sunday, February 10th, 3 P.M. at Shiloh United Methodist Church. If so desired, memorials may be made to the Price Hill Lions Club or Shiloh United Methodist Church. Radel Funeral Home, 650 Neeb Road serving the family.
