Marie M. Kerwin, 66, Rock Island, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at home.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Arsenal Island.

Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday. Memorials may be made to Memorial Heights United Methodist Church, Rock Island.

Marie Johnson was born April 13, 1932, in Kilwin, Mo., to James and Hulda Wheeler Johnson. She married George Kerwin July 12, 1958, in Galesburg. He died Nov. 17, 1990.

She had been a beautician and had operated a beauty shop in her home.

She was a member of Memorial Heights United Methodist, Rock Island, and was treasurer of the United Methodist Women's Group of the church. She also was a member of the Christian Friendliness Association and a volunteer at Bethany Home.

She enjoyed watching football games and doing jigsaw puzzles.

Survivors include a sister, Vica Watson, Kirksville, Mo.; sisters-in-law, Barbara McGrath, Rock Island, and Norma Buchanan, Colona; nieces, Linda Ward, and Jessica Simmons, both of Rock Island, and Sue Sambdman, Milan; a nephew, Rick McGrath, Rock Island; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
