Shirley J. Pepper, 60, of Illinois City IL, died March 14, 2004, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island IL. She was born Feb. 25, 1944, in Antioch CA, daughter of Joseph and Esther Howett Garriott. She married Gene Tighe in 1956 in Rock Island. She married Larry Pepper Dec. 10, 1977, in Moline IL. She was a laborer out of Union Local 309 Rock Island. She ran in the Susan B. Komen Race for Life. She owned and rode a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. She also was an accomplished seamstress.
Surviving are her husband Larry; daughter Donna Howell of Colona IL; stepdaughter Carmen Pepper of Los Angeles CA; sons David Tighe, Sr., of Colona and Kevin Key of Gurdon AR; stepson Richard Pepper of Reynolds IL and Larry Pepper of Atlanta GA; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister Esther Mae Cepeda of Bettendorf IA; brothers Dennis Garriott of Hillsdale IL, Donald Lowery of Lake City FL, and Joseph Garriott of Rock Island; and her yorkie named Mickey-Mack.
