Thomas A. Lowe, 86, of
the Middle Creek section of
Cedar Bluff, died July 20 in
a Richlands hospital following-
a lengthy illness.
Born in Cedar Bluff, he
was the son of the late Mose
and Vicie Lowe, both Cedar
Bluff natives.
He had made his home in
the Cedar Bluff area all of
his life and was a retired
mechanic from CONSOL
having worked there for
44 years. He had attended
grade school on College
Hill in Cedar Bluff and was
an elder and deacon at the
Cedar Bluff Presbyterian
Church. He had also attended
the Middle Creek Advent
Christian Church. He was a
member of the Cedar Bluff
Masonic Lodge #260 AF &
AM and was a U.S. Air Force
Veteran. He was a member
of UMWA Local #6640
Amonate.
In addition to his parents,
he was preceded in death by
two sisters, Mary Johnson
and Margaret Mullins, and
two brothers, Everett and
Wayne Lowe.
Survivors: wife, Lillie B.
Lowe; daughters, Shirley
Childress and husband,
Jim, of Cedar Bluff, Nancy
C. Burke and husband,
Charlie, of Perry, OH; son,
Franklin Eugene Lowe of
Cedar Bluff; sister, Virginia
Johnson of Baltimore, MD;
brother, Buford Lowe of Baltimore;
grandchildren, Michael
Bell, Jr., Richard Bell,
Shane Bell, Brian Burke,
Scotty Burke, and Gina
Lynn Lowe; great grandchildren,
Jasmine Bell, Shay
Bell, Savannah Bell, Shawn
Bell, Jamie Ray Burke, Jordan
Ashley Burke, and Marcus
Ross; great great grandchild,
Hunter Kennedy; and
granddaughter-in-law, Judy

The funeral was conducted
July 22 at 4 p.m. at the
Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel
in Richlands with the Rev.
Eddie Nash and Rev. Guy
Hunt, Jr. officiating.
Entombment followed a
Greenhills Memory Gai
dens Mausoleum at Clay
pool Hill.
