The Times Niagara-on-the-Lake September 16, 1898 p. 5
It is our painful duty to chronicle the death of one of the oldest residents of Niagara Township, Mr. Daniel Field, who departed this life at the ripe old age of sixty seven years. About a year ago his wife died and he was left alone. He was in very frail health at the time, and a few months ago he came to reside with his brother Mr. George Field on the River Road where he passed away Sunday evening the 11th inst. His remains were taken to St. Davids for interment on Tuesday afternoon, where in the presence of a large concourse of friends an interesting service was conducted. The deceased was a relative of Murray Field of this town.
