OLD RESIDENT IS CALLED IN DEATH
A.M. LUKENS DIES TWO WEEKS AFTER
HIS WIFE; DOUBLE FUNERAL SUNDAY.
Aurelius McVey Lukens, a resident of Ottumwa and Wapello county for many years, died at his home, 125 South Cooper avenue, at 1:35 o’clock this morning aged 71 years. Death followed an illness since last December. The wife of the decedent passed away just two weeks ago.
The survivors are four sons, Arthur and Hiram of Ottumwa, John of Chariton, and Glenn of Rapid City, S.D., and one daughter, Mrs. Mabel Cushing, Homeland, Ga.
The funeral will be a double one, the remains of Mrs. Lukens that have been held in the vault at Ottumwa cemetery since her death March 24, will be brought home and Sunday morning at 10 a.m., a service will be conducted for both parents at the home on Cooper avenue. Rev. C.A. Field, pastor of the Main Street M.E. church, will conduct the service. Interment will take place in Ashland cemetery.
