Obituary:
Charlotte Jeanette Nansel, 73, of Arnold, Nebraska went home to be with her Savior on Thursday, February 17, 2011. She was born Oct 11, 1937 to Alma and Gladys Brown in Hoagland, Nebraska. After contracting polio in 1954 and receiving treatments, she graduated from Gandy High School in 1955. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Nansel on Sept 19, 1956.
Charlotte stayed at home taking excellent care of her family. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, and working crosswork puzzles. She was known for her cheerful attitude and her positive outlook. She was a strong woman who was an inspiration to the people who know her. She was able to make life in a wheel chair less about having a disability than about building character, patience and hope; and people who visited with her report that she was able to pass that hope and inspiration on to them.
Charlotte is survived by her husband Loyd Kenneth of Arnold; her children Lois (Bill) Witthuhn of Arnold, Lori (Koji) Nakagawa of Lincoln, Linda (Hayden) Petrie of Murdock, Ks, Kirk (Tyann) Nansel of North Platte; grandchildren: Olivia (Larry) Prince, Riverton, Wyoming, Tiffany (Todd) Engleman, North Platte, Tyrel (Chelsey) Witthuhn, North Platte, Sheena, Serina and Kenji Nakagawa, Amber, Will, and Brandon Petrie, Courtnie, MaKenzie , and Turner Nansel; great-grandchildren: Remington Prince, Benjamin, Alexander and Kearsyn Engleman; brother: Loren (Anita) Brown, sisters-in-law: Wilma Nansel, Lexington, Theda (Lawrence) Coleman, Merna, Ardith (Dale) Clark, Brady, Shirley Bassett, Arnold, Nancy Brown, South Dakota; brother-in-law Ralph (Karla) Nansel, Arnold; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her infant son, her parents, and her brother James Brown.

Charlotte Jeanette (Brown) Nansel was born Oct 11 1937 in Hoagland, Logan Co, Nebraska. She was the second child of Alma Loren Brown and Gladys Fern Rockwell. In her senior year of high school, she contracted polio. On September 19th, 1956, she wed Loyd Kenneth Nansel, who was born March 16th 1932. He had just returned from the Korean War. To them were born five children: Lois, Lori, Linda, Kent and Kirk. Kent died in infancy. They resided on the farm place 8 or 9 miles west of Arnold until 2008 when they moved in to their retirement home in Arnold. The house was built especially for Charlotte by my dad. In January 2011, Charlotte started to fail. By Febuary 17th, She went to see her savior. Grandma was the best cook there ever was and she passed that on to my mom, who has passed that wonderful trait on to me. I'll meet you in heaven some day, Grandma.
