Jennie S.aged 84 years, widow of Rev.Erastus B. Cake, died Tuesday noon in the home of her daughter. Mrs.J.E.Bankhead, Clarksville,Mo after an illness of two weeks. Funeral services were conducted in Clarksville,Thursday afternoon
Twenty five years have elapsed since Rev.E.B.Cake was pastor of the christian church of Decatur. He was then regarded as one of the brilliant ministers of that denomination to the Central West. Mrs.Cake by those privileged to know her intimately was regarded as a woman of no lesser mental attainments than her husband. She was the niece of Rev. Issac Errett, one of the foremost Christian ministers of his day and the founder of Christian Standard, the first publication of that denomination established in this country.
She had been well schooled and more than that she had come of a family justified in a sense of pride for the things for which its member stood and which they ever sought to promote. But there was in her manner never anything of egotism and all her associate regarded her as a charming companion. She lived a long life and the surprising thing even to her intimate was not along that she retained her youthful spirit but a youthful appearance.
Of her family, two daughters and sons remains, Mrs.Bankhead of Clarksvile,Mo,Mrs.Alia McDougall of Maryville,Mo and Charles Cake of Chicago.
Another daughter, Miss Frances cake and three sons,Harry, George an will Cake preceded her in death.
