Surviving are his wife, Evadna Ives Davies and children, Phyllis and Jim George of Cedar Park, Sherry and Lee Rushing of Big Spring, TX; Jim and Gail Davies of Gordonsville, Virginia; Lorrie and John Copeland of Cedar Park; Ed and Dawn Davies of Leander. There are 14 grandchildren - Shannon, Nathan, and Eric George, Bryan, Kevin and Stephen Rushing, Ryan and Caleb Davies, Shae, Weslee and Alicia Copeland and Kristin, Justin and Branden Davies. He was the oldest of seven children which survive; Fred Davies Palm Beach Garden, Flordia, Bill Davies of Pulaski, New York, George Davies of Central Square, New York, Larry Davies of Nanuet, New York, Rick Davies of Garnett, Kansas and Sister Tari Knight of Clay, New York and severl nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life was held at New Hope First Baptist Church on March 9. The family would like to extend their appreciation in all those that attended. Jim had been diagnosed with Polynyistis 15 years ago, but continued to enjoy life. Contributions may be made in his memory to the Myositis Association of America, 1420 Huron Court, Harrisonburg, VA. 22801.
