She relied on Russia, while Milan relied on Austro-Hungary. Their relationship and divorce became significant political topic which forced M. Garasanin's government to resign. Marriage between Natalija and Milan ended on October 12th 1888. and she was forced to leave Serbia on May 7th 1891. Natailja occasionally visited her son Aleksandar, but broke all contacts with him after his wedding with Draga Masin. When Aleksandar was murdered, she changed her religion to Catholicism and went to monastery. Natalija then donated her estate in Serbia to the University in Belgrade. (bio by: Jelena)
