Robert Lee "Bob" Batson, age 87, formerly of Holder-Inman Rd., Randleman died Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Universal Health Care of Ramseur.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 100 North Main Street, Randleman with Rev. Kenneth L. Reaves and Rev. Chris Heppding officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park.
Mr. Batson was born in Marietta, SC on January 1, 1925 to William Zion and Elizabeth Johnson Batson. Bob served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Randleman, where he was a former deacon. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife Delores Kirkpatrick Batson, daughter Bobbie Adams, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
He is survived by his daughters, Rebecca Newsome and her husband Earl of Randleman, NC, Sandra Auman and her husband Reggie of Asheboro, NC, Patsy York and her husband Kenneth of Sophia, NC; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 16, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC.
