Popular Young Lady Is Dead In This City
Lavilla Ellen Whitney, age 25 years, died at the family residence, 1209 Pine street, yesterday morning. Deceased had resided in Pueblo for the past fourteen years, and received her education in the public and Central high schools. Many friends shocked to learn of the death of this young lady, as her sweet, Christian disposition endeared her to all who knew her. She was a member of the Lake Avenue Baptist church and took part in all of the church activities. She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E.W. Whitney, one sister, Mrs. H.S. Barnes, one brother Ralph Whitney, and an aunt Mrs. Aaron Gwin, all of this city. She was a member of the local Homesteaders lodge. The body is at Davis & Vories, and the funeral will be held from the Lake Avenue Baptist church at a time to be announced later.
