Dr. Harrison H. Shoulders Sr. former president of the American Medical Association, was sstricken with a heart attack at a Park here today and died shortly afterwards. He was 77 years old.

Dr. Shoulders attended the Potter Bible College at Bowling Green, Ky and received his medical degree from the University of Nashville's medical department in 1909. Interned at St. Thomas Hospital in 1910, was resident surgeon at the former Fort's Infirmary until 1912, and assistant secretary and executed officer of Tennessee Department of Health from 1912 until 1917 from 1917 to 1919 he was a Captain with the army's medical corps overseas in WWI. He did postgraduate work at the New York Postgraduate hospital from 1919 to 1920, resident surgeon at St. Luke's Hospital in New York in 1920, and house surgeon at the Hospital for Ruptured and Crippled in New York in 1921. He practiced in Nashville since 1921 until his death.
