Vincent P. Bongiovanni passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012. Vincent was born on the 4th of July, 1921 and was a World War II veteran. He was a first lieutenant in the Army Air Corp. He married his beloved Josephine DiMaggio in 1947 and was married 55 years until her passing.
He was the past President of the Illinois Road Builders Association. Mr. Bongiovanni led efforts for the passage of legislation that President Ronald Reagan signed into law that provided multi million dollars for road construction and infrastructure improvements in Illinois. Mr. Bongiovanni was President of Bongi Cartage, Inc. where with his three brothers built a successful road building company that included the construction on the Eisenhower and Kennedy Expressways and the subway into O'Hare Airport. As president of the Illinois Road Builders Association he was able to meet with Ronald Reagan. However one of his proudest moments was his private audience with Pope John Paul II.
Vincent traveled all around the world from Japan to Morocco to England but he always said his favorite place to be was with his family whether it was on vacation in Florida or a Sunday dinner at his house.
He is survived by four sons, Carl, Gregory, Philip and Francis, 11 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Interment: Entombment St. Joseph Mausoleum, River Grove
