For four seasons (1962, 1965 to 1967), he played at the center and linebacker positions in the American Football League with the San Diego Chargers, Houston Oilers, Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills. Born William Wayne Frazier, he attended Hillcrest High School (Alabama) and played collegiate football under legendary coach Ralph "Shug" Jordan at Auburn University. While with the Tigers, he was a participant in both the Blue-Gray Game and Senior Bowl. He was selected by the Chicago Bears during the 16 round of the 1961 NFL Draft, but signed with San Diego of the AFL. While with Kansas City in 1966, he was a contributor to the Chiefs' squad which captured the AFL Championship Title and moved onto the World Championship Game against the Green Bay Packers (Super Bowl I in January 1967). He appeared in 48 regular season games. Following his playing career, he coached at Troy State University (Alabama) and later at the high school level. (bio by: C.S.)
