CHEROKEE, Okla. - Ruth Marie Belong, 90, died July 20, 1995, at Alva, Okla.
She was born Sept. 4, 1904, at Centerville, the daughter of George and Laura Jane Jackson Shank. A Lyons, Kan., resident from 1962 to 1976, she was a homemaker and a hospital volunteer.
In 1922, she married Roy Belong. He died in 1962.
She was a member of the Assembly of God Church at Alva, Okla.
Survivors include: a son, Bill, Poway, Calif.; two daughters, Carol Forrest, Cherokee, Okla., and Jo Ann Mathis, Bedford, Texas; six grandchildren; five step grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; 13 step great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Assembly of God Church at Alva, with the Rev. David White presiding. Friends may call Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home, Cherokee. Burial and graveside service will be in Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons, at 3:30 p.m. Monday.
