Harold, 83, Convoy, died at 7:03 p.m., at Adams Memorial Hospital.
He was son to Earl and Mabel (Miller) Fortney. On Aug 19, 1952, he married Peggy Louise Cranor, who preceded him in death.
Surviving are two sons, Jody (Kelly), Medina, and Michael (Jennifer), Crawfordsville, IN; a daughter, Ilona (Ed) Welker, Convoy; three brothers, Estne (Betty), Convoy, Arlo and Vance (Due), both Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren, Nicole Warner, Tiffany Hart, Jonathon Welker, Melissa Otis, Julianne Fortney, Christa Fortney, Brett Fortney, Trevor Wear and Samantha Fortney; and eight great-grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers, Gene, Don and Morgan; and a sister, Helen Plumley.
He was a retired farmer and also retired from the Panhandle Eastern Pipeline. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was an active member and worship leader of Countryside Chapel United Methodist Church. He loved music and singing and sang in many area quartets. He was a member and longtime master of the Convoy Grange, member of the American Legion Post 208 of Convoy, and the Good Sams Camping Club of Van Wert.
Services are at Countryside Chapel United Methodist Church, with Rev. Wayne Kargas officiating.
