Virgie Lee Isham, 96, of Northern Goshawk Drive died at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at her home.
Mrs. Isham formerly worked at Bell Telephone Co. in Mackville, Ky., and retired from Handmocker Inc. in Lebanon, Ky., where she was a seamstress.
She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and a former member of the Baptist Church in Harrodsburg, Ky.
The funeral will be at 6 p.m. today at Barkes, Inlow & Weaver Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. John McKay officiating. Calling will be from 4 p.m. until service time. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Peter's Cemetery in Mackville.
Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church.
Born in Mackville Dec. 20, 1907, Mrs. Isham was the daughter of Samuel and Lillie Taylor Smock. She married Leo Isham Feb. 25, 1926.
Survivors include a daughter, Roxie Russell, with whom she made her home; a sister, Edna Begley of Lexington, Ky.; grandchildren, Georgia Faye Groves of Columbus, Ann W. Arterburn of Summerfield, Fla., Tina A. Dodd of Hope and Harry Lee Harmon of Harrodsburg; seven great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Feb. 7, 1953; three brothers; and two sisters.
