James R. Baber, 72, St. Joseph, died Sunday, March 11, 2012 at his home.
He was born December 21, 1939, to James Albert and Pearl A. (Spinner) Baber in Holt, Mo.
He married Barbara Blankenship on June 17, 1977.
Mr. Baber worked for the City of St. Joseph for 37 years in the Street Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Connie Amos; and nephew, Dennis Amos.
Survivors: his wife; step-son, Wayne Cunningham (Candies), St. Joseph; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services and Interment: 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Mount Auburn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, where friends may call after 5 p.m. Tuesday.
The family suggests memorial gifts to a charity of the donor's choice.
