Services for Ruby Lee Delaney were held at the Bethel Tabernacle Pentecostal Church of God Monday, January 15, at 11 a.m., with Rev. James Iley officiating. Interment was in the Luling Cemetery, under the direction of O'Bannon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Jay Pearson, Willie Sutton, Web Sutton, Billy Pendleton, Bill Conaway, and James Trench; and honorary pallbearers were Bill Nance and Carl Nance.

Mrs. Delaney was born in Luling, on October 6, 1918, to Thomas Carol and Dovie Lou Williams Nance. She was a former Luling resident, and worked as a waitress before retirement.

She was a resident of Smithville and died in that city on Friday, January 12, at the age of 82.

Survivors include her daughters, Dorothy Sutton of Lake Hills, Nancy Conaway of Smithville, Rosemary Cloughly of San Marcos, Ruby Holye and Betty Evon, both of Sequin, and Patricia Scott Cannon of Arizona; her sons, James Delaney of Luling and Eddie Oliphant of San Antonio; 26 grandchildren - two of whom she raised, Billy Pendleton of Luling and Mary Pendleton of Smithville; 17 great grandchildren; three great, great grandchildren; and a sister, Nellie Cline Miller of Baytown.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a son - Victor Delaney and a daughter - Linda Pendleton.
