Sarah Pauline (Reifschneider) Easterly was born to John and Pauline (Jergensohn) Reifschneider March 23, 1922, in Sutton, Nebraska. Sarah, died Friday, March 9, 2012, at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare, Hastings, Nebraska.

Sarah grew up in Sutton, Nebraska with her family and moved to Colorado in 1936. After the death of her mother in 1937, she moved with her father and sister, Ella, to Friend, Nebraska, and then to Sutton, Nebraska in 1939. She was confirmed in the Reformed Church in 1936.

Sarah graduated from Sutton (NE.) High School in 1941, after which she taught in rural school in Clay and Fillmore Counties, Nebraska. She then worked at the Harvard (NE.) Air Base where she was employed as a secretary to the aircraft inspector.

Sarah married William Frank Easterly of Carbondale, Illinois, on May 26, 1944, in the German Congregational Church. They made their home in Great Bend, Kansas and Douglas, Wyoming, before moving back to Sutton, Nebraska in 1947. They were blessed with two children, Rosemary Lynn and Steven Craig.

Husband, William Frank Easterly passed away May 11, 1991, and son, Steven Craig Easterly passed away February 9, 2004.

Sarah was a member of the Federated Church, Sutton, Nebraska, for more than 50 years and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for more than 50 years. She was a past member of the Federated Church Women's Fellowship, the Adams County Salon of 8/40, Fairview Club and the rural letter carrier's Auxiliary.

Sarah is survived by: daughter, Rosemary Friesen and husband Arlyn of Loup City, Nebraska; grandchildren, Lisa Marquart and husband Jeff, Krysten Teeter and husband John and Scott Friesen and wife Stephanie; great-grandchildren, William, Elizabeth and Joshua Roe, Jonathan and Mackenzie Teeter and Aleia and Kolton Friesen and a host of family and friends.

Sarah was preceded in death by: parents; step-mother, Vera Reifschneider; husband, William Frank Easterly; son, Steven Craig Easterly; sister, Ella Griess and brother-in-law, Lorence Griess.

Burial was in Sutton Cemetery, Sutton, Nebraska.
