Bridgeport Girl Taking Lessons For Pilot License
Motors to Brainard Field Frequently -- Plans Parachute Jump Soon
Viola Christensen, 23 years old private secretary of Stratford, has recently joined the ranks of aviation enthusiasts among Connecticut. She enrolled last week as a member in the Connecticut Flying Club and motor to Brainard Field several times each week from Bridgeport, where she is employed as a secretary by the Chrysier Motor Car Company, to be coached in the art of "handling the stick" by Charles Potholm, the club's instructor.
The only flying member of the club, Miss Christensen is already planning to make her first parachute jump just as soon as she is awarded her pilot's license. She expects to be a regular licensed pilot within a few weeks.
