Cheri Mychel Rigoulot Kernes, 50, of Twin Falls, formerly of Idaho Falls, died November 11, 2001, at University of Utah Medical Center of complications following open heart surgery. She was born February 10, 1951, at Idaho Falls, to John Marcel Rigoulot and Vivian Elaine Labrum Rigoulot. She attended Clair E. Gale Junior High, Rigby Junior High, and graduated from Rigby High School. She also graduated from Northwest Oklahoma State with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts. She married Sheldon Lee Kernes October 22, 1968, at Idaho Falls. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on April 13, 1971. She has been a homemaker, mother, artist, and substitute teacher. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in numerous callings over the years, including Young Women's President and in the Primary. She loved camping with the Young Women. She was a professional artist and loved it and her family. She enjoyed genealogy, art, sculpture, and animals, especially her dogs.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services were held Friday, November 16, 2001, at Wood Chapel of the Pines, with Bishop Robert Schroeder of Twin Falls 4th Ward officiating. Burial was in Ririe-Shelton Cemetery under direction of Wood Funeral Home.
