He was a left-handed pitcher making his debut for the Milwaukee Brewers on August 27, 1891. For ten seasons, he played with the Milwaukee Brewers (1891), Washington Senators (1892), Pittsburgh Pirates (1893-98), Boston Beaneaters (1899) and Chicago Orphans (1900). He was the National League wins champion twice and won 20 or more games five times. He ended his career with a record of 164 wins, 131 loss, 253 complete games, 13 shutouts, 725 strikeouts and a 3.78 earned run average. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
